TREATY OF PEACE BETWEEN THE STATE OF ISRAEL AND THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN
October 26, 1994

The Peace Treaty between Israel and Jordan incorporated an implied renunciation by Jordan of its former claim to sovereignty over the “West Bank” of the River Jordan, since the future of the Territories was now governed by the Oslo Accords. In the treaty, the middle of the river’s course defines the international boundary between Jordan and Israel. This is qualified by the words “without prejudice to the status of any territories that came under Israeli military control in 1967”.
